A man suspected to have stolen a phone at Mbrom in the Ashanti Region has been lynched.
Police say the incident took place on Thursday dawn.
The deceased was found in a puddle of blood following a distress call from residents.
The deceased, believed to be in his 40s, is suspected to have been given a chase and killed after the alleged theft.
Manhyia Police Commander Chief Superintendent Kwaku Buah told local journalists who thronged the scene that lynching was no justified punishment to be meted on anyone, even if the person had really committed the offence.
The lynching comes days after Captain Maxwell Mahama of the Ghana Armed Forces was lynched in Denkyira Obuasi on suspicion of being an armed robber.
